I first heard about Alabastron through a colleague who is also a friend. Earlier this year I was going through a rough experience and she kept telling me I do not look fine. I had walked out of my marriage.

“Attend the Alabastron Open Day. It will change your life.” She promised me. I really wanted to get better.

I missed the Open Day but she approached me for the next one and I agreed to attend it. I thank God I did! In my mind, I thought it was a counseling session or mentorship. Little did I know! [...]

Do you feel overwhelmed by anger, resentment, disappointment and bitterness? If given a choice, would you choose the freedom that comes with living a life full of joy, peace, and contentment? This was my life before Alabastron. I had a choice to make!

My sister introduced me to Alabastron a few years ago. When she approached me, she was slapped with an absolute NO! I gave her a compelling excuse. “My son is a candidate and he expects my support since he is a day scholar.” I told her candidly.

My sister was persistent! God bless her soul! After my son’s graduation, she reached out. She confidently told me, “Every woman I know who has taken this journey has transformed her life!” This time her efforts bore fruits. I did not have an excuse! What comes to your mind when a woman introduces herself as a single mum? Think about it

The Renewing Self program was more than just a program for me. It was an experience! A journey of truly rediscovering myself! In this journey, I learned how to drop labels that I allowed to define me.

One of the labels I had allowed to define me for a long period of my life was ‘Single Mum’. I chose to drop this label. Let’s be honest, what do we think immediately someone calls herself a single mum? Disgrace to the family, shame to the family, burden to the family, promiscuous, why couldn’t you wait for marriage, why couldn’t you keep your marriage together? And the list goes on! Yes! Isn’t this what we often do?

I refuse to allow a cloud of shame to hover over my life. I am intentionally replacing the label of ‘single mum’ with a fine crown. [...]

Six years ago, I watched “My Unspoken” the TV program that Alabastron ran on NTV. I remember Googling and researching Alabastron after watching the program. I even followed Alabastron on social media. In 2018, I finally decided it was time to enroll.

The testimonials and videos I watched assured me that I would be equipped to handle the challenges and situations I was going through.

I was stuck and desperately wanted to get out of that space! Sigh! I was just done! I had carried a rejection tag since I was a child because I was a baby born out of wedlock. The stigma I felt was imprinted in my system. [...]
